I threw the search into autotempest and st-165 keyword and this was the only thing there. $3k. I guess it was slightly modded, if you call engine swapping a slight mod. Could have been a replacement with like unit. Either way, for someone in the mid-west, this is your chance! Just get to the border of Oklahoma/Arkansas south of Fayetville.

I’d want to see if there are better pictures of the intercooler and turbo piping, it’s not clear exactly what’s going on there from the photo but it’s not stock. BOV doesn’t necessarily say great things about the tastes of the owner, but I believe these cars are old enough to use speed density (MAP) tuning so it’s not a “bad” thing in and of itself (confirmed: the engine he swapped does use MAP). Finding out more about the engine is a good idea too...from what I can see that turbo is definitely not stock (T3/T4 versus stock CT20b or CT26).

I want an ST165.
I also want an ST185.
You know, throw in an ST205 as well.

Yeah. Looks to be a fair bit of exhaust welding there to fit the wastegate. This would be one to check how good of a swap this was. I saw a grey one of these locally a few years back with a popped engine for $2k. Just needed a short block really. I got enough on my plate as it is.

When the year comes up, I wonder how many 205’s will be imported

Probably not a lot. No one really remembers the 205 like they do the Evo or the STi/22B.

Probably. However, it was one seriously trick car. The homologation models, 300 of which went to england, had all the plumbing in there the race car had. So you could activate the anti-lag and had a spray bar for the inter-cooler and all kinds of trick suspension.

I had a 165 for 2 years. Drove down a side street and found it sitting in a driveway, knocked on the door and offered the dude $1500. He took it and I kind of drove away with it. It had a lot of problems and that’s when I found out that sourcing parts was nigh impossible. Sold it for the same amount without ever getting it on the road.
